As we wrap up Women’s Month and reflect not only on the strides women before us have made and the continual progress we’ve seen for the drivers of society, we take a moment to look to the future and what can be achieved, what must be done and where we’re going as a collective of women.
We asked three phenomenal women who are pioneering in their fields ‘What Is A Future That Is Female’ and this is what they had to share:
WHAT IS A FUTURE THAT IS FEMALE?
Thembi Sehloho, Marketing Director at Tiger Brands (Rice and Pasta)

A future that is female is gender equal without patriarchy. Insecurities don’t exist for both males and females – your success is based on how hard you work not your gender. This can be achieved by being intentional about equally empowering the girl child and boy child. I am passionate about this because leaving the boy child behind created a new problem in our society. Society needs to change and manage gender messages that children are receiving and exposed to so that we start to rewrite the script and raise a new empowered generation that will shape and build a future we all dream of.

MASHUDU: Mashudu Ndopu, Head of Marketing at Bathu

The future that is female is about empowering women and girls to recognise that it’s our responsibility to take up the baton from the bold women before us, who fought to have us recognised in society as strong and capable beings.
It’s our responsibility to OWN the narrative and push it forward.
We need to be BOLD and LOUD… Never Stop, the future is ours.

The unified journey of female empowerment looks optimistic, diverse and is filled with a plethora of opportunities. Facilitated by the courageous, expressive, and bold nature that we know women to exude, this is also underwritten by the opportunities they consistently create for equality of voices and impact led decision making in society while graciously creating space and elevating a future generation of women.
ViacomCBS Networks Africa (VCNA) supports and leads the efforts of gender equity and female empowerment now and for tomorrow through its various platforms and initiatives that spotlight, support and celebrate the significant strides women contribute in community, business and society.
