Marvel Studios broke the internet this past weekend after unveiling the breathtaking trailer for action film, “Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever.
Building anticipation amongst film enthusiasts, the trailer showcases Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira), and the Dora Milaje (including Florence Kasumba), fighting to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death.
Uncompromising in celebrating black excellence, the trailer’s soundtrack is BET award-winning musician Tems’ rendition of “No Woman, No Cry” by Bob Marley. The rendition is erroneously morphed into Kendrick Lamar’s “We Gon’ Be Alright.” Tems’s sultry voice starts the trailer off, as the characters are slowly introduced.
Fans of the Nigerian superstar were overjoyed as the singer’s voice coloured the exhilarating trailer of Marvel’s Black Panther sequel. Having become the first female Nigerian artist to be awarded BET’s Best International Act, debuting at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 list and being flagged as one of the features on Beyoncé’s upcoming seventh studio album Renaissance, the Global Superstar is pivoting into the marvel cinematic universe
The black star-studded film is set to drop in November this year. It is expected to honour the memory of later Academy award-winning actor Chadwick Boseman who played King T’Challa in its first installation.
