Afro Nation 2022 was one for the books! Thousands of music lovers worldwide flocked to the “Selection of the Shields”, Portugal for the Afro Nation festival on Friday, 1 July. World-renowned powerhouses such as Megan Thee Stallion, Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido headlined the festival, while Mzansi’s very own Amapiano talents also delivered show-stopping performances. Amapiano DJs Uncle Waffles, DBN Gogo, Kabza De Small, and “Osama” hitmaker Zakes Bantwini all graced the Afro Nation stage with their presence.
The first day of the music extravaganza saw an astounding performance from “President Ya Strata ”, Focalistic who also performed his hit-single “Ke Star Remix” alongside superstar Davido on the festival’s main stage. The pair also performed their groovy song “Champion Sound”, as well as Ckay’s new single “Watawi” which features both of them. DBN Gogo, Musa Keys, and Moonchild Sanelly also hit the stage, before Major League DJz closed the show.
The final day of the festival saw performances from some of Mzansi’s most iconic performers such as Sho Madjozi, Zakes Bantwini Virgo Deep, and Kabza De Small on the popular Piano People Stage.
