The country was looking forward to an extra special FRIYAY today as it would have been the first day post lockdown before the extension was implemented.
Nevertheless, we’re still having a #FeelGood Friday and decided to catch up with our Creative Producer, Blue Mbombo, who’s currently spending lockdown with her twin sister, Brown.
Moziak Magazine: How are you social distancing during this period?
Blue Mbombo & Brown Mbombo: Social distancing has had so many challenges for us, because of the business we run. We are currently selling covid-19 protective gear. So we are dealing with a lot of people daily, however, we have strict safety measures to everyone that comes to our offices. Otherwise if we are not at the office or delivering stock, we are safe at home, curating digital content, in the kitchen, working from home and video chatting with our loved ones.
MM: Where do you wish you were right now?
Blue & Brown: We honestly wish we were in the Free State, spending time at home with our family.
MM: Name some positive things about the world almost coming to a standstill
Blue & Brown:
- As difficult as staying home is, the virus is actually controlled, and most people’s lives are saved.
- Most people are spending time at home with their loved ones, which they hardly do because of busy schedules, some are learning new skills, while others are reflecting back on their lives.
MM: Name 5 things you plan to achieve whilst in “quarantine”
Blue & Brown:
1. Make lots of money with our business
2. Learn new skills
3. Spend more time together
4. Have profitable contacts (business)
5. Save money
MM: What surprising item made your shopping list?
Blue & Brown: Golden Star instant yeast 😂 we didn’t realise it was THAT needed. From making steamed bread, to fat cakes… we use it a lot.
MM: Did you stock up on additional toilet paper?
Blue & Brown: Not really. We still don’t understand the fuss about toilet paper, besides groceries stores are opened throughout the lockdown, so there was absolutely no need for that.
MM: Have any important plans or activities of yours been cancelled/postponed because of the coronavirus?
Blue & Brown: We had one international trip that had to be postponed for now. Blue had several shoots aligned, one with a magazine cover.
MM: In a year’s time when you look back, what do you think you will be saying about this period?
Blue & Brown: It was a tough time, but we survived by God’s grace.
MM: What advice do you have for people who are struggling with the idea of social distancing?
Blue & Brown: This is not a personal attack, it’s a world crisis, no one is immune. We are all affected and we need to work together and fight this deadly virus.
MM: What are you looking forward to the most when the coronavirus pandemic is over?
Blue & Brown: We are looking forward to see the growth of our cleaning company, since it was our first time making the deals we made during this lockdown, but most importantly, we cannot wait to see people healthy and back to their normal lives.
