South African media darling Nomzamo Mbatha, has been cast as one of the leads in COMING 2 AMERICA, the much-anticipated sequel to COMING TO AMERICA since its 1988 release.
The actress moved to Los Angeles, California early this year to focus on building her acting career and the move has certainly paid off.
On being cast to be part of this star-studded cast Mbatha said:
“I’m rendered speechless to be a part of a project of this magnitude, and it being a classic! To God be the glory. It is truly unreal to me. The sacrifices have paid off. The goal was never insurmountable but rather a path of commitment, diligent work and sacrifices by me and my team. Moving to Los Angeles was a choice of faith, and God has surpassed my wildest dreams. This moment is bigger than me – this moment is for every single girl who doubts herself or just how big her God is. My life is a testament to that. My life says God is bigger than ginormous!
I am grateful, I am humbled, I am honored to be cast in COMING 2 AMERICA.”
This announcement comes off the star’s successful showcasing at Durban International Film Festival of her first short-film production 2 GRAMS AND A SUNRISE, as producer and star of it. Miss Mbatha will be joining a star-studded cast, which includes the original cast of Eddie Murphy (Prince Akeem), James Earl Jones (King Jaffe Joffer), Arsenio Hall (Semmi), alongside new cast members Jermaine Fowler, Kiki Layne, Teyana Taylor, to name a few.
Craig Brewer is directing the movie which is currently in production, in Atlanta, Georgia. He recently directed Dolemite Is My Name. Kevin Misher, Eddie Murphy and Kenya Barris are producing COMING 2 AMERICA, which is slated to arrive in theaters December 18, 2020.
Congrats to Mbatha from all of us at Moziak Magazine.
