There are few people in South Africa who can rile conversation like Nota Nhlamulo Baloyi – AKA, Nota. The outspoken music entrepreneur has made a name for himself as a brutally honest commentator on the state of affairs and whether you agree or disagree with his opinions (many do!) you can’t deny his ability to spark trending conversations which can last for days on end.
A mogul with over a decade’s worth of experience in SA music, Nota is widely renowned for his experiences in labels and music companies across the local landscape. He popularly managed Kwesta during one of the purple patches of the rapper’s successful career, and has since offered advice to some of the biggest names in South Africa’s music scene.
And now, he dons the cover of our latest piece – a truly authoritative edition! – where he speaks to January 2021’s guest editor, Raphael Benza (AKA Benza) of The Vth Season.
In their newly released interview, Benza picks Nota’s brain to gain some insight into some of his most passionate opinions on SA music, our artists and the future of our industry.
