Keabetswe “Kea” Boya is an award-winning radio presenter, MC and a podcast host. She is a multifaceted radio personality who describes herself as a voice that speaks to and represents young women. She describes herself as “smart, witty and creative” and says she loves to engage people in discussions on self-development, entertainment and trends. Her background in radio presenting started with working on different shows on Tuks FM where, in 2018, she was selected to be head of the presenting department. A year later she won an SA Radio Award for the best drive time show in the campus category.

How has your experience been at 5FM so far?
Kea: “It’s been really fascinating, especially in terms of making the adjustment to commercial radio. The team is absolutely amazing and really supportive, and it has been exciting meeting new people.”
On a scale of 1-10 how funny would you say you are and why?
Kea: “A solid 5. I don’t consider myself hilarious, but I know that I’ve got a really great sense of humour.”
What is one thing you will never do again?
Kea: “Eat space cookies!”
Is there anything you wished would come back into fashion?
Kea: “Spice Girls shoes! I think platform shoes are so versatile and really cute, and since we’re doing platforms shoes, we might as well take it all the way there.”
If you could share a meal with any 4 individuals, living or dead, who would they be?
Kea : “Oprah, Gabrielle Union Wade (and baby Kaavia), Tracee Ellis Ross and Rihanna.”
