World music artist Kekelingo, is hosting an exclusive screening of One Humanity – a feature documentary telling the story of two pop political concerts that were held in honor of Nelson Mandela and the fight against the apartheid government. This exclusive screening will be held on the 25th of May, 2022 in CinePremiere, Killarney Mall.
Kekelingo, a vocal critic of Gender-Based Violence, has organized this exclusive screening to remind us of the power music has in bringing about awareness, change, and solidarity. In response to the horrifying rise in Gender-Based Violence cases against women and children in 2020, Kekelingo released Siyaphi ft Amanda Black & Zoë Modiga. The song questions where are we headed as a country if we continue with the violence.
One Humanity chronicles the 1988 Nelson Mandela 70th Birthday Tribute Concert, and the Nelson Mandela: An International Tribute for a Free South Africa in 1990. World broadcasters came together to broadcast these two star-studded concerts in 100 countries, reaching over 500 million people. This exclusive screening is the start of a conversation of how we can use music to create awareness and fight against Gender-Based Violence.
This exclusive screening is hosted in association with Afri-Tec and Empire Partner Foundation Tech Hub
