Globally renowned premium vodka brand, Smirnoff has enjoyed a pivotal transition into cocktail culture with its innovative serving, “Smirnoff Infusions”, a blend of the finest spirit infused with the tantalising taste of raspberry, passion fruit and lime, best enjoyed with a tonic or neat over ice.
Contributing to the rebirth of local tourism post the economic pandemic paralysis, Smirnoff has re-energised the Food and Music festival industry with the successful launch of their #InfusedSundays event property. Delivering an array of contemporary cocktail serves with a play on delicious popsicles, refreshing jug serves for sharing and a delightful spin on beloved Infusions flavours, the inaugural instalment of #InfusedSundays took place at this year’s DStv Delicious Festival.
The exhilarating events property infused the defining sounds of South African music and youth culture as spirited partygoers enjoyed The Channel O Dance Stage which hosted the likes of award-winning Afropop royalty Ami Faku, Dlala Thukzin, and Maglera Doe Boy all of whom are occupying critical touch points in shaping the future of South African Music.
Ami Faku pivoted into cross-generational music status by collaborating with Gallo Remixed and Black Coffee for a remix/remake of “There’s Music In The Air” originally composed and performed by renowned music icons Caiphus Semenya and Letta Mbulu respectively. Award-winning club DJ, Dlala Thukzin who’s enjoyed a yearlong run of back-to-back achievements including Gold Certification for his smash hit “Phuze”, and recently partying the night away with his successful one-man show, set the tone for the next chapter of accolades with his head-turning, turn-table performance.
Maglera Doe Boy, who was undeservedly snubbed for a SA Hip-Hop awards nomination last year has positioned himself as a formidable breakout star following his half-decade pivot into mainstream acclaim. Not only delivered a critically acclaimed debut album, Diaspora, his feature run, most notably his verse on cult-popular producer Mashbeatz’s “Never Ride” has been dubbed verse of the year, and has been the heart of his show-stopping performances on the DStv Delicious Fest, SAMA Awards and Rocking The Daises stages among others.
The outstanding career trajectories and performance acumen of Ami, Thukzin and Maglera have complimented the brand vision of capturing the vibrancy and flavour of the South African demographic, retaining Smirnoff’s status as a globally renowned vodka whose imbuing taste profile and accentuating spirit of jubilation and good vibes quench South Africa’s taste for music, local cuisine and bottomless drinks. The continued curation of never-been-seen-before experiences will not only add a new layer to the culture of the cool calm and collected Sunday chillas culture, but it will also elevate the legacy South Africa has established as one of the groove capitals of the world.
