Yaw Fosu-Amoah: Refilwe is my compass and my strength. I have known her since 2005, we started dating in 2007 May and we got married in 2009. She fulfils many roles in my life.
Refilwe Fosu-Amoah: We met at university. Yaw was my athletics coach. We became great friends, he was like an older brother… Always protective and gave awesome advice. One thing led to the other and before I knew it he was asking me out and I knew enough about him at that point to realise he was an amazing man.

Yaw Fosu-Amoah: Currently she is self-employed, running her events company.
Refilwe Fosu-Amoah: I would like to think really well. He shares a lot about his day at work and I support him as much as possible when it comes to his career… So much so that I even accompanied him to his job interview for his current position.

Yaw Fosu-Amoah: Communication is key. Support from extended family, parents and in-law’s helps. Live within your means. Plan your finances together but also be ambitious and support each other’s dreams. Intimacy must never be neglected by both parties. Be adventurous with each other.
Refilwe Fosu-Amoah: You don’t need to choose between self-love and a romantic relationship, you can have both.
